The Rating to 2nd Mate (F.G.) – 6
Months Course is designed in accordance with DGS Order No. 26 of 2026 to
facilitate the progression of eligible Deck Ratings with the required sea
service to Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch (2nd Mate F.G.) on ships
of 500 GT or more. The course is aligned with STCW Code Table A-II/1, IMO Model
Course 7.03, and the applicable requirements of DG Shipping Circular No. 26 of
2026.
Upon successful completion of the candidate shall possess the knowledge, understanding, proficiency and practical skills necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of an Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch (OICNW) on ships of 500 GT or more, in accordance with STCW Code Table A-II/1, IMO Model Course 7.03, and DG Shipping Circular No. 26 of 2026.
